Aktive kardiale Implantate in der Rechtsmedizin
Zusammenfassung Im Jahr 2021 sind in Deutschland ca. 75.000 Menschen auf nicht natürliche Weise oder unklar verstorben. Daraus ergibt sich, dass bei einer Vielzahl von Patienten Schwierigkeiten bestehen, die Todeszeit, -ursache und -umstände genauer einzugrenzen. Neben einem klinischen Interesse sind diese Daten im Rahmen von Ermittlungsverfahren von erheblicher Bedeutung, da damit zahlreiche juristisch relevante Fragen beantwortet werden können. Aktive kardiale Implantate spielen eine bedeutende Rolle in der Therapie kardialer Arrhythmien. Bei ca. 100.000 Menschen wurden in Deutschland im Jahr 2020 derartige Geräte implantiert. Folglich findet sich unter den o. g. Verstorbenen ein relevanter Anteil von Patienten mit aktiven kardialen Implantaten. Der Informationsgewinn der postmortalen Abfrage dieser Geräte konnte wissenschaftlich eindeutig belegt werden. Aus Gründen der Praktikabilität findet die postmortale Abfrage im Rahmen der rechtsmedizinischen Untersuchung dennoch nicht statt. Der vorliegende Artikel stellt Nutzen und Limitationen der postmortalen Abfrage aktiver kardialer Implantate aus rechtsmedizinischer und kardiologischer Perspektive gegenüber und gibt eine praktikable Empfehlung zum Vorgehen..
