What is the male-to-female ratio in autism spectrum disorder? A systematic review and meta-analysis

A meta-analysis of prevalence studies to derive the estimate of the relative proportion of boys and girls with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is presented. The analysis was conducted on fifty-four studies with 53,712 participants had ASD among the overall total of 13,784,284. The findings show that the true male-to-female ratio is closer to 3:1 rather than the assumed 4:1..
