Inhaled therapy via nebulization : practical issues
Inhaled therapy represents a mainstay component in treatment of many chronic respiratory conditions. It offers the advantage of local delivery of the active substance at lower doses, with consequent reduction of systemic side effects. Inhaled medication can be delivered with various types of devices including nebulizers. Nebulization have advantages and disadvantages compared with the other devices and requires a specific technique and patient education in advance. In Romania there are several pharmaceutical forms which can be given via nebulisation, however, this method is not widely used. Better knowledge of practical issues related with nebulization, which is the aim of this paper, could contribute to a more effective use of.
