Anabolic androgenic steroids : a nightmare for control of doping or a drug?
In addition to the therapeutic use of anabolic androgenic steroids with must foresee also in future their abuse by sportsmen and other population groups and take into consideration that in future they probably will be part of male contraception. Therefore it is important to consider carefully possible risks of their administration, record all hitherto known undesirable side-effects, restrict the use of preparations involving the highest risk and pay attention to research into long-term administration of selected anabolic androgenic steroids.
