Metal-insulator-metal (MIM) energy storage devices with layered stacks and methods of manufacture
An MIM energy storage device, the MIM energy storage device comprising a bottom electrode; a plurality of conductive vertical nanostructures; a bottom conduction control layer conformally coating each of the plurality of conductive vertical nanostructures; and a layered stack of alternating conductive control layers and electrode layers, the layered stack conformally coating a bottom conductive control layer, the layered stack comprising at least a first odd number of electrode layers at a bottom of the layered stack, a first odd number of conductive control layers directly on the first odd number of electrode layers, and a second odd number of conductive control layers directly on the second odd number of electrode layers. And a first even-numbered electrode layer directly on the first odd-numbered conduction control layer. Each even-numbered electrode layer in the layered stack is conductively connected to the bottom electrode; and each odd-numbered electrode layer in the layered stack is conductively connected to any other odd-numbered electrode layer in the layered stack..
