PEPTIDES WITH CELL DAMAGE PROTECTION ACTIVITY AND LIPOSOMIAL FORMULATIONS
Selected peptides have been found to repair, by means of nucleotide excision repair (NER), cellular DNA damaged by the exposure to external agents, in particular UV rays and are useful for cosmetic or pharmaceutical use thereof in skin treatment. Compositions for topical application that contain such peptides, preferably carried in liposomes, prevent and treat skin damage caused by the exposure to UV rays, including in subjects affected by xeroderma pigmentosum..
