CT method of processing dental CT images for improving precision of margin line extracted therefrom
The present invention relates generally to data processing techniques for precisely acquiring dental CT images. In particular, the present invention relates to a series of data processing techniques for CT images, which detect a corner point from the outline of a binarized image for a series of two-dimensional CT data (slices) and perform corner region expansion through image segmentation to precisely extract a margin line from the dental CT image. According to the present invention, the method precisely acquires a margin line from a dental CT image, so that a prosthetic operation or an implant operation can be precisely performed, thereby providing advantages of increasing the success rate of prosthetic and implant operations and at the same time, reducing discomfort and pain of patients. In addition, the accuracy of data processing in the dental CT image is increased, thereby providing an advantage of expanding utilization of cone beam CT. In addition, a margin line can be acquired from the dental CT image only by software processing, thereby increase work efficiency and solving a conventional problem of varying the quality of a prosthesis according to individual ability of an operator. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring two-dimensional CT data; acquiring a binary image; detecting a tooth area; detecting an outline; detecting a corner point; acquiring an expanded corner area; and updating the binary image..
