Anti-microbial composition comprising rosemary extract and ascorbic acid as active ingredient
The present invention relates to an antibacterial composition comprising a rosemary extract and an ascorbic acid as effective components, and more specifically, to an antibacterial composition comprising, as effective components: a rosemary extract; and one or more compounds selected from among ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbate, sodium ascorbate, and ascorbyl palmitate. In addition, the present invention relates to a process for combining one or more compounds with an article selected from among a food product, a cosmetic product, a topical agent, a drug, and a quasi-drug in order to prevent or disinfect microbial contamination on the article, the one or more compounds comprising: rosemary extract; and one or more compounds selected from among ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbate, sodium ascorbate, and ascorbyl palmitate. The antibacterial composition of the present invention consists of materials that have a long history of human consumption and are proven to be safe, and thus, can be safely used on articles that come in direct contact with a human body, such as food, drugs, cosmetics, dishes, cooking appliances, medical devices, cosmetic devices, and the like. In addition, the antibacterial composition can reduce the amount of a rosemary extract used by increasing the antibacterial strength of the rosemary extract, and thus is economical.
