PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide transparent soap-based skin cleansing compositions having good foam quality, after wash feeling, and usability and being excellent in low temperature stability, though the compound amount of the potash soap is small.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a soap-based skin cleansing composition characterized by containing the following components (A)-(C): (A) 0.3-1.5 mass% of an alkyl sulfobetaine based surfactant; (B) 3-5 mass% of a straight-chain fatty acid alkanol amide based surfactant (but excluding straight-chain fatty acid monoethanolamide based surfactant); and (C) 7-15 mass% of fatty acid and a potassium salt thereof in which the mass ratio of fatty acid : potassium salt of fatty acid is 1:99-0:100.SELECTED DRAWING: None.
