PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripeptide having a sugar (glucose) uptake promoting action on muscle cells or muscle tissue, and uses of the tripeptide as an active ingredient of a composition for promoting sugar uptake, an anti-fatigue composition, or a hyperglycemia inhibitory composition.SOLUTION: An oral composition for promoting sugar uptake contains at least one selected from pGlu-Leu-Pro and pELP precursors as an active ingredient. The oral composition for promoting sugar uptake is used for at least one selected from improvement in muscular endurance, promotion of recovery from muscle fatigue, enhancement of physical strength, and improvement of exercise performance, and further used for inhibition of hyperglycemia.SELECTED DRAWING: None.
