The invention belongs to the technical field of detonation experiments, and particularly relates to a system and method for accelerating attenuation of combustion waves. The system for accelerating combustion wave attenuation comprises a high-energy igniter, an inflation module, a detonation pipe and a combustion wave rapid attenuator, the inflation module is used for supplying detonation source gas into the detonation pipe, and the high-energy igniter is fixedly arranged at the first end of the detonation pipe; the combustion wave rapid attenuator comprises an attenuation pipe, an explosion venting sheet, a cooling module, a buffer sheet, a pressure release valve and a gas buffer pipe. When the device is used, detonation waves can be weakened by the explosion venting sheet and the cooling substance, the detonation waves can be quickly attenuated into combustion waves in the whole process, and the combustion waves are quickly attenuated and extinguished, so that a growth mechanism of a nano material prepared by gas-phase detonation can be more accurately revealed; and more real and reliable experimental data is provided for further perfecting the research on the growth mechanism of the nano material prepared by the gas-phase detonation method..
