Application of artemisinin methyl ether in preparation of medicine for treating SCA3 disease

The invention discloses application of artemisinin methyl ether in preparation of a medicine for treating SCA3 diseases, the artemisinin methyl ether is an FDA medicine for clinical application, and is high in safety, small in side effect and low in cost, so that medicine research and development can be accelerated, research and development cost can be reduced, and a new strategy is provided for development of a medicine for treating neurodegenerative diseases; researches show that artemisinin methyl ether can significantly reduce an inclusion body caused by mutant ataxin-3, improve the soluble ataxin-3 protein level, improve cell apoptosis caused by ataxin-3, and regulate and control a specific molecular mechanism of the ataxin-3 inclusion body through an HSP60/AKT signal axis. The invention aims to reveal the application of artemisinin methyl ether to exert neuroprotection on SCA3 diseases, enrich the new application of old medicines and provide a new thought for preventing and treating other neurodegenerative diseases..
