Extrapleural air secondary to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis‐related pneumomediastinum

Key message Extrapleural air is a rare condition that may concurrently develop with pneumomediastinum and pneumothorax, especially in older patients with fragile connective tissues. Physicians should consider extrapleural air to prevent inadvertent harm.
