A Case of Tuberculosis Septic Arthritis in the Knee Joint

Septic arthritis is the inflammation of synovial membrane and synovial fluid in joints, which is caused by bacterial, viral or fungal agents. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common cause in all age and risk groups. In the presence of chronic septic arthritis, Mycobacterium species may be the causative agent. Osteoarticular tuberculosis may mimic many bone joint pathologies. Rapid diagnosis and treatment are important because they can cause destructive osteoarthritic outcomes in untreated cases. In this article, we report a case of recurrent septic arthritis with tuberculous arthritis..
