« En pie contra el fascismo », La prensa anarquista ante el golpe del 18 de julio de 1936

Having had a strong anarchist movement until the 30's decade which continues during the Years of Lead is one of the Spanish particularities. This is the reason why the anarchist press is key to understand how the anarchism faced the Coup d'état that took place on the 18th of July 1936, which gave place both to the Spanish Civil War and to a revolutionary process which was starred by anarchists among others. This paper addresses how the anarchist press analysed the Spanish reality since the General Election of February 1936 to the Coup on the 18th of July, focusing on how the anarchist studied the fascist menace and the Coup d'état. This paper has been made analysing the most important anarchist newspapers and reviews published in larger cities: Madrid and Barcelona..
