FEATURES OF TEACHING PHYSIOLOGY TO STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF DENTISTRY

The modern dentist is a professional not only in the field of modern treatment and prosthetics, but also with extensive knowledge of physiology and anatomy, particularly the structure of the maxillofacial area. It is impossible to successfully diag- nose and treat diseases of the maxillofacial region without knowing the laws governing its work, the characteristics of the functions and inter- relationships of its parts during the life of the organism as a whole. The purpose of discipline is necessary to provide the students with system- atic knowledge about the functioning of the organism as a whole, its interaction with environmental factors, mechanisms of regulation, about the physiological basis of clinical and physiological methods. An important task in teaching students of the faculty of dentistry in the Department of physiology is studying of the core issues that will help shape clinical thinking. Relevant issues are discussed in relation to common themes: physiology of excitable tissues, nervous system, endocrine glands, respiratory, circulatory, digestive and excretory sys- tems. Considered separately, for example, the issues of gnadenkapelle, masticatory, odontometry, chewing tests, reflexes which arise in the course of dental procedures in the oral cavity and affect the cardiovas- cular, respiratory, digestive system. A promising direction for successful education of dental students is to develop a relevant textbook, taking into account the specifics of the faculty. Department of physiology objectives are pursued successfully, as evidenced by the results of the students of stomatological faculty for licensed exams KROK-1. So in 2019, the third year students showed the best results in Ukraine, and results in physiology was above the national figure by 0.6%. Conclusions.
