Practice of quality control circle activities to improve the accuracy of the records of input and output amount in clinical nurses

Objective To improve the accuracy of the records of input and output amount of clinical nurses through quality control circle(QCC) activities. Methods According to the ten steps of the QCC theory, the subject selection, the current situation, the goal setting, the cause analysis, the implementation of the strategy and the confirmation of the effect were carried out. Clinical department that participated in the QCC of input and output amount from October 14, 2019 to December 25, 2020 were selected as the research object, and inaccurate items of input and output amount that clinical nurses recorded were analyzed. By using the fish bone diagram and other quality control tools, reasons that lead to inaccurate of input and output amount records were determined, followed by the implementation of strategies and effect evaluation. Results Through the activities of QCC, the accuracy of input and output amount was improved from 64. 85% to 89. 13%. Conclusion Application of QCC activities is potentially effective to improve the accuracy of input and output amount, and enhance the team cohesion of the participants and the ability to analyze and solve problem..
