By introducing the research and development direction of electric traction shearer, aiming at the specific fault characteristics of 3 LS electric traction shearer and based on the reasoning ability of experts on the field maintenance experience and professional knowledge system of coal mine, a fault diagnosis system of 3 LS electric traction shearer based on CLIPS is put forward. The theory shows that the system runs well and can help to maintain.Personnel diagnose fault, save maintenance time and improve maintenance ability of electric traction shearer. It is helpful to improve the control performance and safety and reliability of electric traction shearer..
