Land reclamation and rural transformation in Aligarh district : Some projections
The authors discuss the impact of land reclamation on rural development with case studies from the villages of Gursikran and Mahua-Khera in Aligarh district (Uttar Pradesh). The studies indicate that land reclamation is helpful in improving socio-economic conditions of rural poor by providing more cultivated land, more pasture land, more employment opportunities, more income to rural people etc. (DÜI-Sen).
