LUMINOUS BODY, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LUMINOUS BODY, AND BIOLOGICAL-SUBSTANCE LABELING AGENT

This luminous body 3 has a nanoparticle 4 comprising an AgInSe-based compound semiconductor, and a coating film 5 endowed with hydrophilic properties is formed by ultrasonic irradiation on the surface of the nanoparticle 4. The coating film 5 is configured as a double structure comprising a first organic molecule film 6 containing an alkylthiol 9, and a second organic molecule film 7 having a fatty acid 10 as a main component thereof. This luminescent body 3 has a luminescence quantum yield of 10% or greater, preferably 30% or greater, the peak wavelength of luminous intensity thereof is in the range of 650 nm-1000 nm, and the half-value width ∆H of the peak wavelength is 100 nm or less. The luminous body 3 is dispersed in water, and a biological-substance labeling agent is provided with the luminous body 3. A luminous body, a method for manufacturing the luminous body, and a biological-substance labeling agent comprising the luminous body are thereby provided, the luminous body having good luminous efficiency and strong light emission in a near-infrared region, and being suitable for low-toxicity bioimaging whereby large quantities of biological information can be detected..
